Location: Nevis, St. Kitts and Nevis

Reports to: Project Manager

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, safety-minded Heavy Equipment Operator for our upcoming project on the Vance Amory International Airport.  If you have experience running heavy machinery on earthmoving, grading, or paving jobs, apply now and be a part of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prestart checks every morning, walk around machine.
• Report any issues with machine immediately to supervisor.
• Ensure machine is greased and fueled daily.
• Listen and understand instructions from supervisor.
• Always follow all site safety rules.
• Crew communication,
• Ensures quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements and Skills:

• A valid heavy equipment driver’s license
• Knowledge of safety protocols and the procedures used to control heavy equipment
• Coordination to use all the controls on pieces of equipment
• Ability to remain stationary in the seat or operating area of the equipment for prolonged periods
• Problem-solving skills to diagnose issues with equipment
• Strong oral communication skills to interact with other workers on the jobsite
• Basic writing skills to accurately complete reports and other paperwork
